J-14 magazine (October/November 2008) sat down and talked to Cody about his first date.
“I was 16, and the girl was 15. I went to go pick her up at the house and I knocked on the door and her dad answered.”
Her father was overprotective of her.
“Everyone always talks about stories of how the dad tries to intimidate the kid. I was like, that never happens. But I was scared out of mind.”
The father did asked Cody about many things when he got there, like is age etc.
“‘Bring her back in one piece’ was the last thing he said to me. And I was like ‘Yes, sir!’”
“I made sure to drive slow. We went to Applebee’s because that’s where she wanted to go. We had dinner and then we went to a park and I played the guitar and sang. She laughed at me. I was like, ‘Are you laughing at me?’ And she was like ‘No, no, it’s cute!’”
That was sweet that he played his guitar and sung to her. Sounded like they had fun.
Heartache
Cody Linley sat down with J-14 (October/ November 2008 Issue) and he talked to them about his first heartache.
“Mt first girlfriend was older than me. She was in fifth grade and I was in third – - it was a big deal,. She was the older, cool, hot girl, and I was in awe of her. She’d walk by my classroom and wave, and I’s think ‘Oh yeah!’”
Now this even makes me sad for him.
“My girlfriend broke up with me to date a sixth grader. I was heartbroken. It’s hard to believe because I was so young, but I cried myself to sleep every night for months. I think it was hard because she was my first girlfriend. In fact we’re actually still friends,” Cody said.
